Touring the BLOX factory today in Bessemer, AL - absolutely fascinating. Architects always dream about taking a bigger hand in construction, perhaps especially through modularity and prefabrication. These guys are doing it.
My first built project was a modular home (đź‘‹ #ecoMOD and @johndquale!), my Master's thesis was on panelized, prefab construction, and my research adventures (especially in Mongolia) led me to understand prefabrication and modularity have a *much* longer and richer history than just Western Architects in the 20th century.
Understanding construction techniques and history is at the heart of what we do at Runcible, and learning from others who are doing interesting things at the edges of traditional practice is what fires us up. 🔥🛠️❤️- Marilyn
