Design Tips: Maximizing Storage in a Tiny Modern Master Bath

For this home renovation project, space was at a premium. We pulled out all of our favorite tricks to work the magic of both squeezing out every square inch of usable space while keeping things clean, serene, and uncrowded.

  • Low ceilings? Tight footprint? Use mirrors - they multiply the space, bounce light, and are needed anyway in a bathroom!

  • Not enough room for a full-depth vanity? Go custom - it's not as expensive as you think, and it allows you to customize to the space and your personal needs.

  • Need every inch you can find? Use the thickness of walls. The toilet and lav faucet are both wall mount, saving horizontal space, and the toilet paper holder is embedded in the cabinetry.

  • Trying to pack stuff in without things looking crowded? Put everything away! Even the trash can is hidden behind an access flap under the TP holder. There are electrical outlets inside the cabinetry, allowing for charging and storage of electric toothbrushes, hair dryers, etc.

  • Want to keep things light and airy? Stick with continuous colors and materials, and....don't be afraid of darker materials. They provide contrast, clarity, and interest.
