Making a New Addition Blend with a Historical House

When the client says they want to addition to blend in and help organize all the crazy shapes of a house that's been added to adhoc over the years...... we love that challenge!

This is something that must be solved in three dimensions. For this and many of our projects, we build 3D models to study various shapes and massings. If the massing is off, and the lines aren't right, and the roof slope is wrong, then it doesn't matter how beautiful the materials are - you have to get the bones and the shape right.

It's a great moment when final paint colors start to go on, because then things really start to fall into place, and it becomes clear when we've gotten it right ❤️🛠️ - Marilyn
