Scenes from the field: Sometimes you need to get out the 3D model!

We often make 3D models of tricky portions of our projects - sometimes for our clients, but often just for ourselves, to help figure out complicated moments, understand how things are working in multiple planes, and explain things in clearer ways than 2D drawings allow. And *sometimes* we just bring the computer to the jobsite, and work directly with the contractors to figure stuff out. Over the years, we've learned what we need to figure out ahead of time, and what should be saved for conversations with contractors and crews onsite - this helps save time and money, and ensures that the expertise of field personnel is taken into account. Here, Jason from Runcible is working through some tricky elements of a 2 story deck with our GC and our framing crew lead - not pictured, the symphony of saws and nail guns in the background!

We love moments like this - solving problems with a great crew, to build a great project!
