In this dramatic transformation of a 1920s house, our challenge sounded simple enough: integrate the kitchen into one room.
Yep, that's right, the kitchen was in two rooms - stoves (one working, one not) in one room, and sink/fridge in the other. Storage was haphazard, there was no real seating area, and tons of doors/conflicting circulation from the patio and basement made life with three kids in this kitchen *very* difficult.
We straightened all that out 💪with a combination of removing a few walls, closing off a door, moving the patio door, adding a small breakfast room addition, and working hard to precisely understand this family's needs. 💃
The construction process wasn't easy - there are always many surprises in an old house - but working with our friends at @rk_constructionco means we were able to solve everything as it came up, and make smart adjustments along the way. 🌟
We were about to shoot this project professionally right before COVID hit, so for now, you'll have to deal with phone photos til we can get back and shoot it for real. 🙃
